T&M is seeking a detail-oriented and growth-minded Bookkeeper to support a high-volume accounting and finance operation. This position is well suited for an individual who is organized, accurate, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in developing a broader understanding of accounting and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will support expense processing, accounts payable, client invoicing, payroll administration, reconciliations, and other accounting functions. The role requires sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in our Midtown Manhattan office and is expected to work in-office 4–5 days per week.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and practical decision-making skills.
  • 0–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related professional experience.
  • 0–3 years of experience using an ERP, accounting, or financial reporting system.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete high-volume transactional work within established deadlines.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and execute solutions in resolving routine accounting matters.
  • Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when handling confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically with colleagues, clients, vendors, and other business partners.
  • Interest in understanding the processes and business rationale underlying accounting and financial reporting.
  • Ability to appropriately use AI-enabled and other productivity tools to improve efficiency and support timely, accurate work, in accordance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, process, reconcile, and facilitate reimbursement of approximately 150–200 travel and expense reports per week.
  • Prepare and submit approximately 100–150 client invoices per week across multiple vendor management platforms.
  • Support biweekly payroll administration for approximately 500–1000 employees.
  • Review, organize, and process approximately 75–100 vendor invoices per week to support accurate and timely payment.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding outstanding balances, invoice status, and payment inquiries.
  • Assist with timely and accurate sales tax filings and payments.
  • Perform daily reviews and reconciliations of bank activity.
  • Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and other accounting variances.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with additional accounting, finance, and administrative projects as business needs require.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with vendor management, procurement, or invoicing platforms such as Ariba, Coupa, JAGGAER, Oracle Fusion, or similar systems.
  • Experience with an ERP or financial reporting platform.
  • General understanding of ERP workflows, accounting processes, and system integrations.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools or automation to improve repetitive accounting and administrative processes.
  • Interest in expanding responsibilities and developing within the accounting and finance function. 

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 – $73,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, education, and qualifications.
