Expanding Our Aerial Capabilities: What a Remote Drone Pilot License Means for Security Investigations

We’re excited to announce that T&M USA’s Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics Investigator, Simon Bradlow, recently earned his Remote Pilot Certificate for civil small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)—commonly known as a Part 107 Drone License.

This certification, issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), legally authorizes commercial drone operations in the United States.

But what does this mean for our firm and our clients?

Reconnaissance & Surveillance

For security assessments or investigations involving large properties, drones allow for discreet, efficient aerial reconnaissance, particularly in areas that might be difficult or unsafe for ground personnel to access.

Photography & Videography

We can now offer high-quality drone footage for:

  • Site inspections
  • Physical security evaluations
  • Client documentation

Product Research & Development

Our team has already begun prototyping technologies that leverage the use of drones, such as incorporating facial detection software into security strategies.

Simon’s certification and expertise, alongside our team’s research, also enable us to provide expert consultation on malicious drone activity, helping clients understand the real-world risks of surveillance, data theft, or physical breaches via the use of commercially available drone technology.

A Growing Role in Security

The line between cyber and physical security continues to blur. Drones sit right at the intersection—able to capture sensitive data, perform reconnaissance, or even carry malicious payloads. As part of our commitment to staying ahead of evolving threats, we see drone capability not just as a value-add, but as a necessity.

With FAA-certified personnel and real-world drone security experience, our team is uniquely positioned to help clients mitigate threats, improve security posture, and leverage drone technology for legitimate investigative needs.
